Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how 5StarsDesigns ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website, request a demo, subscribe to our newsletter, or use our subscription services.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect what we need to provide the service.

When you request a demo or contact us:

  • Business name
  • City / service area
  • Trade (plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
  • Email address
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Current website URL (optional)
  • Your marketing-email consent choice (opt-in or not), with a timestamp

When you subscribe to our newsletter:

  • Email address

When you become a paying customer:

  • Billing name and address (collected by Stripe)
  • Tax ID (optional, for business customers)
  • Payment details (handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your full card)

Automatically when you visit:

  • Aggregate analytics via Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless, IP-based) and Google Analytics 4 — pages viewed, referrer, approximate location, device and browser type. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (see "Cookies" below). No cross-site advertising tracking.

2. How We Use This Information

  • To respond to your demo request or message
  • To deliver and operate the service you subscribed to
  • To send transactional emails (receipts, confirmations, demo links, service updates)
  • To send the newsletter, if you opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • To send marketing and sales emails, only if you ticked the opt-in box on our demo form (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • To improve our website and offer based on aggregate analytics
  • To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3. Service Providers We Use

We use the following service providers to operate the platform. Each has its own privacy policy, which applies when your data is processed by them.

  • Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, security, privacy-friendly analytics (policy)
  • Google — website usage analytics via Google Analytics 4 (policy)
  • Stripe — payment processing (policy)
  • Resend — transactional email (policy)
  • MailerLite — newsletter / marketing email (policy)
  • Mailjet (Sinch) — marketing / sales email (policy)
  • Cal.com — meeting scheduling (policy)

4. Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your data for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do use a small set of first-party analytics cookies set by Google Analytics 4 (such as _ga and _gid) to count pages viewed and tell unique visitors apart. These help us see which pages are useful; they are not used to follow you across other websites. Our other analytics provider, Cloudflare Web Analytics, is cookieless. Some embedded services (Stripe Checkout, Cal.com booking modal) may set their own functional cookies when you interact with them — these are governed by their own privacy policies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.

5. Data Retention

  • Demo requests and prospect emails: retained up to 24 months from last interaction, then deleted unless you become a customer.
  • Newsletter subscribers: retained until you unsubscribe, plus an additional 90 days for unsubscribe-confirmation records.
  • Customer billing and account data: retained for the life of your subscription plus 7 years after cancellation, for tax and accounting compliance.
  • Aggregated analytics: retained for up to 24 months.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your information (subject to legal retention obligations)
  • Object to certain uses, including marketing
  • Portability — receive your information in a machine-readable format
  • Opt out of marketing — unsubscribe in any email we send, or email us

To exercise any of these rights, email hi@5starsdesign.com. We respond within 30 days.

7. International Transfers

Our infrastructure and analytics are operated by providers such as Cloudflare, Stripe, and Google, which process data globally. By using the service, you understand your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries with privacy laws different from yours.

8. Security

We protect data with industry-standard measures: HTTPS everywhere, encrypted databases, principle of least privilege for staff access, no plaintext storage of secrets. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach occurs that affects you, we will notify you within 72 hours of discovery as required by law.

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers and newsletter subscribers. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
